After receiving the Trade in module as a partner, it’s important to make sure as many customers and website visitors as possible see it! This can massively increase the number of requests—and in turn, you’ll earn more commission.
Promotion options for the Trade in module:
- Add links in your menu: For example, include a link to “Sell your device” in your main navigation (the more visible, the better). Fixje.nl has a large menu with direct navigation to specific devices (very detailed), while Partly.nl went for a simpler approach with a “Sell” link leading straight to the Trade in module. Since both made these changes, their Trade in requests have gone up quickly.

- Homepage banner: The homepage is the most visited and most important page of any website. That’s why we recommend promoting the Trade in module here as well—this way, as many people as possible will click through and eventually submit a request.
- Add Trade in banners to category and product detail pages: On category pages—like those showing refurbished devices—it’s a great idea to add banners encouraging customers to trade in their old device. This gives visitors an instant solution for their old product and increases the chance they’ll buy a new one right away (since they can trade in the old one on the spot). You can place these banners on both category and product detail pages.
- Links in the footer: The footer is the bottom section of the site and is still commonly used for navigation, just like a menu. Promote the Trade in module here too for maximum visibility.
- Thank you for your order page: The page shown after a customer places an order is the “Thank you for your order” page. Visitors who land here have just made a purchase. We recommend placing a banner on this page that links to the Trade in module.
- Social Media Posts: Many businesses have a strong following and engagement on social media. That’s why it’s important to promote your company’s Trade in module on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Google Business, YouTube, and even LinkedIn!
- Newsletter feature: This is a great way to let your regular customers know that they can now trade in their devices for cash through your company. Especially if you mention it regularly in your newsletter, it will stick with them—and over time, you’ll see more and more benefits from it.
- Follow-up email campaign: If you sell hardware through your website, it’s smart to set up an automatic follow-up email encouraging customers to trade in their old device. Since you know they’ve just bought something new, there’s a high chance they’ll be ready to sell their old one soon.
- Flyer with orders: A good old-fashioned flyer can still be super effective in encouraging customers to sell their old devices. Fixje, for example, includes the flyer below with every order. The QR code takes customers straight to the Trade in module, where they can instantly check the value of their device.
- Trade in integration via WooCommerce plugin: for WordPress combined with WooCommerce webshops, a dedicated plugin has been developed. This plugin makes it easy to integrate the Trade in module into the customer purchase journey. An example of a site currently using this plugin is Partly.nl. They use the plugin to link to the Trade in module on both category pages and product detail pages. A big advantage of this integration is that visitors stay within the webshop and can also complete everything during checkout. This way, customers can buy a device and sell their old one straight away within the same flow! Check it out on Partly's live site.
- API integration (custom) on any site: In addition to the standard environments offered by Trade in, it’s also possible to fully integrate Trade in in a custom way. This allows it to be seamlessly embedded into the purchase flow for maximum results.
