Follow the 4 steps below to reset your iPad before selling it.- Back up your data You don’t want to lose any important info when resetting your iPad. So always make a backup first using iCloud or iTunes.
- via iCloud: Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup > Back Up Now.
- via iTunes: Connect your iPad to a computer, open iTunes, select your iPad, and choose 'Back Up Now'.
- Sign out of iCloud On your iPad, go to Settings and tap your name at the top of the page. Then scroll down and tap 'Sign Out'. Enter your Apple ID password and tap 'Turn Off'.
- Turn off ‘Find My iPad’ Before resetting your iPad, make sure to turn off ‘Find My iPad’. Go to Settings > [your name] > Find My > Find My iPad. Toggle off ‘Find My iPad’.
- Erase your iPad / reset to factory settings Now that you’re all set, you can erase your iPad and reset it to factory settings. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. You may be asked to enter your passcode and Apple ID password to confirm.
